Budget Football Medal

I contacted sales trying to find examples of medals that have a textured surface in the back because I sometimes see them when doing custom laser engraving. These types of medals do not engrave well so I wanted something to practice with. I was not able to get a straight answer. I'm not sure why it is so difficult to determine if the surface is textured or smooth. So I ordered some that I thought might be what I'm looking for based on my own research. They are not. There must be an industry term for what I'm talking about but I'm not in the industry.

Came quick and quality is great, especially for the cost. Getting the engraving was definitely worth it. I do wish I selected a ribbon - as "2nd place" does not really convey the message we wanted for a learning achievement, but it is still a beautiful medal.
